Using the Catalog

Use the Library’s online catalog to locate books and other library items on your topic. The catalog is only available on campus. To find items on your topic, enter a search term in the search box and hit enter to get a list of items on your topic. You can also limit your search to author, title, or subject heading or choose Advanced Search to combine search terms.

Search Tip:

  • Do a keyword search. Find a book that looks good to you.
  • Click on the title of the book to view the full record.
  • Look at the subject headings for the book.
  • Click on a subject heading to find all the books on your topic. Subject headings are given to every item in the library and describe what each book is about.

How can I view my account information?

You can access your account information in the catalog by going to Quick Search and clicking on the “Access Patron Info” button at the bottom left of the screen. Enter your Patron ID and Surname (last name) to view your account. The Illinois Institute of Art
